    Description

    Beautiful 1862 Gold Dollar that would have vied for gem status but someone gave it a wipe on the obverse in the left lower field. Sad, but true.  Two small streaks at 7:00 that put hairlines due to light abrasive wipe in an otherwise great original coin that was superbly struck with fabulous gold color and PQ appearance.  If you buy raw coins without the need for slabbing this is a winner!
