    Description

    I buy antique and vintage linens at local estate auctions and always keep an eye out for beautiful items.  Recently I found a treasure trove of antique ceramic tiles.
    This is a matching set of 9 square tiles made by C. Pardee Works in Perth Amboy, NJ.  Each tile measures 3" square.  These have an Arts & Crafts design, circa 1900; they have a high relief pattern with four lily-like flowers extending to the corners and a wreath of leaves in the centers.  The color is a cobalt blue which shows off the delicate pattern with shading.  I hope you can see the definition of this pattern in the photos.
    The backs of these show that they have been cemented in place, and they have sustained some damage over the decades.  All have some edge chipping - some is slight but others are pretty damaged.  I have included photos of each of the tiles on the front and back so you can evaluate the condition fairly.  There is also a bit of color variation and some small dots of paint. These were probably intended for a fireplace surround or other architectural trim, and they can still be used today.  They're a lovely collectible set from an American manufacturer.  Please write in if you have questions or comments.  Thanks!
